Introduction

The About and Contact pages doesn't show any detailed information, not providing any address either. We have contacted the customer support via live chat, and the operator claimed that they are a Canadian based company and their suppliers are from China. Their Ebay account feedback page actually show that they have registered in Canada.

This looks like a Canadian based business, but since they did not publish any address and they used DomainsBy Proxy to register their domain, we can’t be 100% sure.

They do not have phone number, and this is their justification:

“The reason why you can't find our phone number in the website is because we already have a 24/7 Live Support, a quick reply email, and a well design order discussion feature in track your order. We feel that having the contact phone number on the website is really unnecessary, since it would cost us more money and time to answer phone calls, which means we will have to charge our customer at a higher price. At GameGoody.com we try to cut all the unnecessary cost, and bring you the best price you can find in the market. If you still believe you need to talk to us on phone, you can send an email to request for our office phone number, one of our staff will be happy to answer your call”(GameGoody Faq).

They claim they started their business selling Ultima Online currency on Ebay in 2002. Then they begun selling Dark Age of Camelot Platinum on www.daocgoody.com (now closed), and after that they built GameGoody.com. (GameGoody - About Us) Their Ebay user id history page supports this story.

Ease of use

The site is nice and easy to navigate. Pages load fast enough.

I found a broken link anyway: they were not actually selling Matrix Online Informations, but they were still linking to the related section, that was empty. Also, they were selling Final Fantasy XI Gil calling it “Aoc Gold”. These are minor imperfections but the rest of the site was fine.

UPDATE

They fixed all those errors recently. Not the best website around in terms of ease of use. Anyway, their site is ok.

Reliability

Everyone we talked to was extremely polite and informative. The customer service agents had excellent English, even if it was clear that it was not their initial language. I imagine that you guessed that English isn't our mothertongue either. Most of us have been working in the USA, UK or even Australia.

Sometimes a response would take more than thirty seconds to receive which could be slightly frustrating, but only occurred when we tested at peak hours (10 PM EST) It only shows that they are responding to many clients at the same time. Anyway, we found them to be really honest. They aren't trying to hide anything and that's a good thing.

Even if they don’t post a phone number on the website, it is available upon request.

Overall customer service was excellent.

They got a long history (2008) of delivery and support issues which seem to have been solved in 09. There are really little reviews on the Internet which are worth linking. Keep in mind that our job is to select valid and up-to-date information.

At Gamegoody, you may buy currency, game cards and PL for 23 MMORPGs.

Purchasing

GameGoody’s purchasing process was rather standard. You select a game and server, add the currency you want to checkout and then select a time for a face to face delivery in-game.

As a fraud prevention measure, if you are ordering a large amount of currency, they will call you to confirm your order. It won't happen if your Paypal is verified unless you are ordering a huge amount.

Delivery

We took a test order with them recently. Surprisingly, GameGoody claims that most orders are delivered within thirty minutes. We decided to log on their livechat and verify if they had everything in stock. They stated that as long as they have stock, it would take 30 minutes. However, when they are out of stock they promise to deliver within twenty-four hours. They are very open about what their current stock levels are, so we recommend that before you purchase if you have a large or time sensitive order you check with customer service first. In our case they had everything in stock.

They also admited that for larger orders or for orders in which they were out of stock, it happened that it took them more than 24H to deliver. So be sure to check their stocks before ordering.

Feature set

They got order tracking, a minimal FAQ, user comments, Live help. Nothing exceptionnal.

Their FAQ is extremely poor and could be a lot more documented. They got a lot of work to do.

Refunds

Summary

GameGoody is a small company that is doing a quite correct job. Of course they are not amongst the frontrunners and while have to work on their image and the quality of their service. The hardest part of the job will be to keep being prompt on delivery and providing a good customer service. If they manage to upgrade their processes, there is no reason why they shouldn't shine. They aren't secretive at all (they obviously are a Chinese company)

If you are going after price and a website open about their business practices, GameGoody might be a safe bet.
